About Me

This blog was created mostly as an outlet for me and anyone who cares about what I do in my spare time. I know there are tons of other ways I could have published this information but I am not very "techy"; (I don't own anything that starts with an "i": ipad, iphone or ipod) and I like to stick with what I know, hence the blog format. I realized my life is busy but I needed an outlet, taking time to do something that I enjoy, for my sanity. This blog will document all the random projects, activities, interests that I do in my free time. This will be an evolving blog but who knows maybe you will enjoy the read and even learn something.

Super Easy Sticky Buns

Hmm there is nothing but sugar in these so no wonder it was a keeper at first try. I made these Sunday after getting the recipe from a friend. I commented that we should make this a tradition and I had a instant reply of " Yes an EVERY Sunday tradition." If they weren't almost pure sugar I would almost agree to that because they were THAT easy. I am not really a "baker" per say so when I do come across something super easy and delicious I decided to share. I was so proud I took pictures but they just doesn't do it justice. I tried this program to collaborate them and in the process I lost the original photo size but there you have it.

Here's how to make everyone in your house get a sugar high. I left out thr nuts. I used the flaky Grands Biscut. I think next time I will had even more sugary goodness by covering the inside of the dough with the topping after the dough cooks a little and starts to rise and separate apart. That way you get more of the dough coated and caramelized.

Sticky Bun Breakfast Ring
-2 small tubes refrigerator buttermilk biscuits OR 1 tube Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuits

-3 Tbsp. butter, melted

-1/2 C. pancake syrup (any brand you like)

-1/3 C. packed light brown sugar

-1/2 tsp. cinnamon

-1/4 C. chopped pecans, optional

-1/4 C. chopped almonds, optional

Instructions:Spray a fluted (or you could use a bundt pan) with non-stick spray or grease it. Combine the melted butter and syrup in a small bowl and set aside. In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if desired). Place about half of the syrup mixture in the bottom of the pan. Then sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture on top. Lay the biscuits on the bottom of the pan, overlapping edges (closely together) to form a ring. Top with remaining syrup and sugar mixtures. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 1 minute in the pan, then invert onto a serving platter and enjoy!
** I ended up using 1 1/2 tubes of the Pillsbury Grands buttermilk biscuits (1 tube didn't seem like enough) and baked it for about 30 minutes. It needed a bit longer to bake since I used more.
